Hungary’s Comprehensive Health Screening Programme (MÁÉSZ) is the largest humanitarian health protection programme in Hungary, which provides free screenings for the public. The programme has been running since 2010, it has been supported by the EU and the government. The fact that more than 643 000 citizens were screened by professionals ( appr. 8 million examinations)* between 2010 and 2021, illustrates the magnitude of this programme.
As a responsible company, Egis has been contributing to the realisation of this high priority project for years, the value of our contribution is around HUF 75 million. From 2015 we were a silver-, later a gold- and last year already a diamond-level sponsor of the programme, thus helping to ensure that more and more people have the chance to take part in the health screenings. At the screening sites Egis brochures provided information about hypertension, peripheral arterial disease, elevated serum uric acid level or wound care and herpes virus infection.
As usual, the organisers review the results of this major programme and the trends emerging from the data collected each year at an annual meeting. This year, our company was awarded the István Kiss Memorial Prize at the conference, which was attended by many prestigious professional organisations and healthcare decision-makers. The award was granted to Egis by the professional organisations of MÁESZ for Egis’ effective professional and outstanding social cooperation. On behalf of our company Dr Györgyné Ujfalussy, Director of Government Relations accepted the award.

*with the 2022 programme still running, the data reflects the period ending December 2021.
