The HR Best awards ceremony is one of the key annual HR profession events. SMEs and large corporations representing almost every segments of the Hungarian economy are present: from financial institutions to utility providers and large telecommunications companies, a wide range of businesses entered this year's competition. There were seven categories for the companies to submit their various initiatives in the field of talent management and talent attraction, employee development and HR services to creating a futureproof organization. Egis' career guidance program #kemiamindenkinek won the gold award in the Future Talent Investors category. The winners in this category are responsible companies with value-focused thinking and being involved in preparing the future generations. They try to reach out to the employees of tomorrow, establish real connections and take active role in developing their knowledge and skills.
Presenting the award Rita Veres co-founder of Edison platform emphasized that in addition to the above criteria it was a decisive aspect that our company's initiative aims to alleviate a national problem, since the rapid decline in the popularity of natural sciences, especially chemistry, is a trend with spill-over effects that are felt in all areas of life.
With our project launched last year – that also won the PPH Media Doing Good - CSR Award in January – we directly address various age groups from pre-school children to university students and draw attention to the beauty and the magic of natural sciences, especially chemistry and the opportunities it can offer. For younger children we explain an everyday natural phenomenon wrapped in a fairy tale, but with a scientific basis; there are some spectacular experiments for school children to watch and a knowledge base for graduating students, which covers the full set of the requirements for the school leaving exam. In our brochure for undergraduates, we give an overview of the career opportunities Egis offers for students of chemistry, chemical engineering and pharmacy.
