We teamed up with the organisers of the Researchers’ Night and for the second time organized the „Egis Kutéj chemistry competition.”  The teams that had successfully completed the first online round had the opportunity to enter the world of scientists and prove their expertise by answering practical questions in the second and final round on 29 September. 
What is the illuminating substance in the flask? Why does not get a paper tissue burning with great flame charred? What are the substances in the beaker that   - when engaging in chemical reaction - produce liquid that always changes its colour?
The secondary school students had to answer these questions and conduct the experiments as well. Upon completing the tasks, the students continued their program by visiting the interactive Egis Science and Technology Centre and so – true to its name – it was all about chemistry on the Researchers' Night.
We were especially happy to learn that one of the teams also participated in last year’s competition. Motivated by their previous experience they had decided to enter this year’s competition again and  - after finishing second this time -  they are already making plans to accept the challenge next year as well.  
We hope to meet them and other former participants in 2024 again.
