Dr. Károly Pataki was the chief engineer of our Körmend unit. His innovative approach can be spotted in several areas and the development of one of our products was also connected to his work. As one of the leading experts of Egis, he always supported young talents as well as the development of new manufacturing methods and the improvement of already existing ones. When our company decided to create a forum for innovative ideas, we decided to name the initiation after him.

The Károly Pataki Contest was organized for the 9th time this year – this event took place in Körmend where our Egis plant is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019. Our call was welcomed by many colleagues who didn’t shy away from offering great ideas, useful recommendations, and creative proposals within the confines of many colorful presentations. We feel especially proud of this tradition as 80% of the concepts presented here end up actually being implemented. Some of our latest innovations, for example the renewal of an Egis product’s manufacturing process, or the development of mechanical packaging, were first brought to light during this competition.

“This is a truly valuable contest as it offers a platform for great ideas that inspire us to be more creative and innovative in our everyday life as well. It is a wonderful example to us all. We would like to show our colleagues how it is possible to improve our company this way” – said Dr. István Hodász about the significance of the Károly Pataki Contest.
