The special link that connects the theatre and the company is István Örkény (1912-1979), a Hungarian writer, whom the theatre was named after in 2004 and who worked at the Drug information department in Egis (known as EGYT at that time) between 1958 and 1963.
Among the joint projects the one minute story contest was the most popular. Launched in the spring, it also paid homage to the literary work of István Örkény. The competition was open to the public, the organizers called for stories in maximum 100 words and written in the style typical of Örkény.
The number of entries was overwhelming, the artists of the theatre had the huge task to select the three winning short stories from the more than 900 submitted works.
The award ceremony took place in the theatre, where Pál Mácsai, director of the Örkény Theatre and  Gabriella Tornóczky, head of the communication division of Egis greeted the authors in their welcome speeches. In a short discussion the authors were invited to introduce themselves, then they had the opportunity to learn about the judging criteria.
At the event the prize-winning works were read out by the artists of the Örkény Theatre – Pál Mácsai, Nóra Diána Takács and István Ficza.
