Thanks to industry collaboration, Buda Hospital received life-saving device

Egis took part in the industry collaboration which offered donation – within a remarkably short period of time – to the Buda Hospital of the Hospitaller to purchase a life-saving device. Owing to the joint donation, the portable ultrasound device was at the disposal of the institution in just four days.

Due to the pandemic situation, hospital care for COVID-infected and uninfected patients became extremely difficult since the hospital had only one single cardiac ultrasound device. The joint donation enabled the purchase of a new instrument so that infected and uninfected patients can access hospital care under safe conditions.

"In order to help fighting against the coronavirus epidemic, we not only provide continuous supply of medicines to patients, but we also contribute to the dedicated work of healthcare workers by providing personal protective equipment and disinfectants. In the same spirit, we were glad to support the rapid realisation of this good cause as well" – stated dr. István Hodász, CEO of Egis.

The three other collaborating participants emphasised that fighting the pandemic is the duty of all of us and supporting the committed work of healthcare professionals is a social responsibility. They expressed hope that such selfless and fast collaboration will be exemplary for others as well.
