Active Substance Technologies

Strengthening the research and experimental development of active substances at Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC.
START DATE: 2010-10-01

Target

To enhance the quantity and quality of ongoing active substance research and experimental development activities at the company, according to Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC's medium-term strategic concept.
Building a new laboratory and experimental pilot plant for developing new active substance technologies to replace and extend the currently operating, technologically-outdated, geographically-fragmented, low-capacity active substance development units— so as to advance synthetic chemistry processes and chemical operations.
Creating 10 new researcher-developer roles to carry out research and development activities, to help enhance both quantity and quality.

Results

With the construction of the research and development laboratory for new active substance technologies, our capacities for technology operation development have increased, and their infrastructural backdrop has significantly improved. We have established our own, independent operation-development laboratory with modern technological-development equipment, analytical instruments and reaction safety testing equipment.
Within this project, we performed research activities for the technology and operation development of dozens of products, and carried out thousands of analytical tests.
Ten new researcher-developer positions were created to carry out research and development activities, to help enhance both quantity and quality.
